The Alberta Sovereignty Act is a planned piece of legislation by the ruling United Conservative Party, the ruling party of the current government in Alberta. The Act, of which the text has not yet been shared, is described as giving Alberta’s provincial parliament supreme authority over whether or not to abide by or enforce Federal laws, including rulings by the Canadian Supreme Court.
